Description of Acadia Ocean Path View (Maine)

One of my favorite destinations, Acadia National Park has been an inspiring place for me to hike and paint.  Maine’s well known rocky coastline is an artist’s dream and greatest challenge.  This painting was painted plein air over two visits to the area during early spring.  Ocean Path, near Thunder Hole, is the location from which I painted with the help of my furry companion Gideon.  The movement of the waves, crashing sound of the water, cold wind air, and ever changing light inspired me to no end.
