9"x12" Oil on Copper, framed

Description of Peony Delight

Inspired by a visit to Peony’s Envy display gardens in Bernardsville, NJ, these amazingly colorful peonies were painted from life at the end of the season in May.  Purple, white, and pink are delicately balanced with blues and greens that express the beauty and seductive nature of these gorgeous flowers.  Although started from life, this painting took two years to complete from memory, as the real peony blooms only lasted a few days! Layers of paint along with tons of patience, this oil painting on copper was created with a deep appreciation of nature’s transient beauty.
