Description of Lilacs

Painted during the darkness of the COVID-19 pandemic, the quarantine serves as an isolated time in my studio to do some soul searching.  Looking for hope in nature, I found inspiration in the beauty of lilacs in bloom.  Painting with intensity, sanding and rebuilding the copper surface with paint over and over again, I searched for the essence of the lilacs.  Its delicate form and depth of color mesmerized me and provided me with a focus, as I escaped the sadness and anxiety I felt inside.
