What a wonderful night demonstrating my oil painting technique on copper at the Studio 7 Fine Art Gallery opening on March 3, 2017! I loved showing my technique at the beginning stage of the painting when you can really see the copper surface. This amazing process has a long standing tradition of over four centuries. Famous artists such as Wtewael, Rembrandt and Chardin have created oil paintings on copper, and I’m honored to be continuing the tradition into the 21st century. The completed painting, “Orchids and Brass” will be on view next month at Studio 7 Fine Art Gallery.
